Those of you who know me well, know that for the past year I have been living and working for Reactive (a digital agency based in Melbourne for whom I worked out of their London office for about 5 years) in New York. Helping them to set up their new US office, in the lovely DUMBO area of Brooklyn (just by the Brooklyn Bridge park, and a stunning view to enjoy lunch over).
A few months ago however, I came to the realisation that my long-distance relationship was just that - extremely long and full of distance. And I had to make a decision, which was to move back to London to be with my lovely Luke. It was a big decision to take, as I had to end my employment with Reactive! But I love London, and I like New York. And so I went with my heart and my gut, and repacked a stack of suitcases with my worldly possessions, and took the flight back over the Atlantic to the grey and gloomy skies of London.
So what next? New chapter!
All a bit scary, but I've decided I want to try something new. I'm staying well clear of permanent employment. At the beginning of 2013, I set up a new company in the UK. I'm pleased and proud to introduce you to: Webicure. I am setting up Webicure as a website and web application development company based in London. The idea is that you come to us when you want to give your website a bit of a treat. Think mani/pedi treatments - but for your website! The website address is http://www.webicure.com/ - please check it out!
So I am offering a number of new services through Webicure:
- Bespoke web application development for companies and individuals using my experience and expertise in ASP.NET MVC
- New websites designed and built using the wonderful, free and easy to use Umbraco Content Management System
- Old static HTML websites rebuilt with Umbraco - allowing them to be easily maintained
I also am in the process of developing some web-checkup maintenance products.
And I will also be available to hire as a .NET web developer on a contract basis.
New times ahead, but very much looking forward to the challenge and excitement that this new venture is bringing!
And Luke is glad to have me back too :)
